The Objective
Having researched and discussed life in the countryside in Ghana, the challenges faced by the youth and their expectations and objectives in life.
The ultimate goal is to build a Youth Entrepreneurial Centre "Ketu North Youth Entrepreneurial Center (KN-YEC)". This facility, which will be located in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region of Ghana, Ketu North is a border town with three official border points into Lomé, Togo. It also houses the highway that leads into Togo, Benin and Nigeria.
The facility will include the following:
Incubator and accelerator spaces
Multi-purpose AstroTurf soccer facility,
Basketball and tennis court,
Event center,
Modern library
Auditorium
Recording studio
ICT training room.
Coupled with commercial activities designed to add value to the economic activities of the people, the facility will also house the following:
Cassava processing unit
Rice packaging facility.
GOALS OF KN-YEC
1. To co-create and provide access to sustainable business solutions to the youthful people of Ketu-North.
Train and educate over 5,000 young people by 2025 to discover innovative business solutions that support the development of a thriving agriculture ecosystem.
Create over 150 purpose-led businesses district providing alternative means of employment to the growing youth population.
2. To identify and support indigenous business solutions that address sustainability challenges.
To develop and build over 300 community activists and leaders to champion sustainable development by 2025.
To identify and train over 500 idea-bearers and problem-solvers to design startup concepts that address social problems by 2025.
To incubate over 150 viable startup solutions with the potential to be self-sustaining and to attract funding to scale by 2025.
To provide over 500 alternative means of employment for young people between 18 and 25 by 2025.
3. To curate and ensure access to quality education and tailored skills acquisition opportunities for the people.
